Rose Myrtle Lappet Moth Caterpillar

Trabala vishnou

Description:

Cream coloured caterpillar with tufts of bristles. Black dots. But it is the head that I loved...maroon, stripey.

Habitat:

My maid came running to ask if I wanted to photograph Gorol. Now, gorol is an old fashioned word for Poison...and I was confused till she took me to the garden and showed me the caterpillar. It is a rather bristly-looking beast so I suppose the word is apt.

Notes:

Someone I showed it to said it is the caterpillar of the Common Jezebel (occurs here) but pictures are not similar, so obviously this is incorrect ID. Any help is welcome.

LennyWorthington, thanks. I have a small question and would be grateful if you can tell me....I looked at this link following the species name you suggested
http://www.inaturalist.org/observations/...
It looks similar but the colour is yellow...the one I spotted is cream. Are these variable in colour? The mouth looks the same.
