White-crested Laughingthrush

Garrulax leucolophus

Description:

large boldly patterned bird, white crest, bib and breast. Dark eye line which extends back to dark back, wings and tail. Loud laughing greeted us as we entered the Nature Lodge so we quickly went back out to find a flock of these gorgeous birds carrying on at the top of the tree right at the entrance. It took a few hours for me to locate them again after we had checked in but they put on a great performance for me the next morning.

Habitat:

Broadleaf evergreen forest in the eastern hills of Cambodia, the Nature Lodge, Sen Menorom, Mondulkiri.
