Trametes betulina
A gilled polypore - sounds like an oxymoron, but this fungus has pores that develop into gill-like structures. It was kidney-shaped and flat. The upper surface was very fuzzy with concentric zones of texture and color.
Growing on the end of a rotting log in a mostly deciduous forest.
