Named for the white corners of its tail. Shorter-tailed than Mourning Dove, without black spots on wings. Wings are dark grayish-brown, pale gray underparts with a pinkish wash around the neck, pinkish-red legs. black bill.


Spotted foraging in a forested area at the National Butterfly Center. Usually forages on the ground for insects.
