Description:

A large click beetle with large eyespots on the pronotum. Adults feed on nectar & plant juices. Larvae are beneficial feeding on grubs & hardwood wood-boring beetles but also can be pests feeding on plant roots.

Habitat:

Eastern North America - south to Florida west to South Dakota. Deciduous forests and woodlands.
