Northwestern Salamander

Ambystoma gracile

Description:

Large shiny brown salamander - unfortunately it appeared to be dead. There had been a heavy frost during the night and I wonder if that killed him.

Habitat:

Pacific temperate rain forest.

Notes:

Found beside the hiking trail in Minnekhada Park.
