Membracidae Hemiptera
He was very complacent (not hopping at all) as I took photos. VERY small!
Forests of Parque Arví, outside of Medellín, Colombia.
I'm not a scientist (I wish!) but I think this guy is Heranice sp. Membracidae Hemiptera. Am I even writing this correctly?

Since you started paying attention to the world around you, you are now a scientist!
Thank you Philip, I have seen them a few times recently, but can't seem to get a shot off before they jump away. I will keep trying.
Spectacular capture and wonderful species Allen!
I think you are right with Heranice sp.. It is a treehopper, but not a leafhopper.
Beautiful
I don't like how quickly the photo becomes "fuzzy", I'm still learning how to get clear shots like this. It's hard! But thanks for the compliment!
Incredible macro, Allen! Congrats!
Martini I see what appears to be the same species by a guy who is also in Colombia, so THANKS for the reference. The terms leafhopper or treehopper seem inconsistantly used, so I still feel he's not fully identified.
I wish I stayed in school...
This is a leafhopper but I am not sure which one. Here is a link to get you started. Seems that your filter is working very well. http://entomopixel.com/galleries/hemipte...
Thanks Cindy, I'm still learning how to use my new close-up filters. This was my first outing with them!
Gorgeous photo and spotting! This should be under the Arthropod category.
