Ischnura posita
Damselfly with pale shoulder stripes that resemble exclamation points—true of both sexes. Males (like this spotting) are yellow, yellow-green, or green. Young females are light blue. Older females are dark pruinose blue. Size is 21-29 mm.
Range is Eastern U.S. and far Eastern Canada. Primarily ponds and temporary pools; sometimes small streams and other relatively placid bodies of water. This one was observed at the constructed wetlands at Phinizy Swamp Nature Park near Augusta (Richmond County), GA.
Food is tiny insects.
