Spotted Blenny

Ecsenius stictus

Description:

These blennies are a part of the mini-world of the reef. They have lost or almost lost their swim bladders and their fins have evolved to steady them as they rest on the bottom. They spend most of their lives grazing on the algae around one big boulder coral, find a partner, raise children (look after eggs until they hatch) and if you look closely, they are everywhere.
