Paropsisterna agricola
Two black marks clearly separate this beetle from several similar species. There is always some lighter flsting from the base of the elytra, strong beading and dark suture. This is the typical form but it occurs sometimes with a bright red lateral marginal stripe (skirt).
Found on small eucalyptus on the roadside planting.
This species is prolofic and possibly widespread but not so in my experience. It is recorded to be a pest of plantation eucalyptus. http://plantationhealth.com.au/pdf/pestn...
