Cabbage White Butterfly

Pieris rapae

White butterfly with black markings on wings. Females have two black spots on upperside of forewing, males have one; both sexes have black forewing tips, black spot on upperside of hindwing, and two black spots on underside of forewing.

Urban neighborhood, perched on sunny wall.

I know it is a very common species, but I am always thrilled when a butterfly sits still long enough for me to get a decent photo!
