Unknown fungi

Description:

Small fungus. If anyone knows what species this is, I’d appreciate you letting me know. We found it growing in our cactus pot (soil and cactus from Sun City, Arizona area). I am slightly concerned it’s made my family sick. Thank you!

Habitat:

Sun City, Arizona

Notes:

It appeared after I watered the cactus pot.

Thank you so much! Yes, it’s Lelia. I’ve always been fascinated with fungi, but never delved into studying them properly. I have been so impressed with everyone’s extensive knowledge on this site and I’m really grateful you answered so quickly. I’d heard about valley fever from the region. Though I searched online and the macroscopic appearance seemed inconsistent with these, I wanted to make sure the internet wasn’t failing me. You put my mind at ease. Thank you again!

Hi lelia (Leila?) and welcome to Project Noah.
Your little mushies aren't in very good condition but I think they are in the Coprinoid group. If true then they are not likely to make anyone ill unless a quantity of them is consumed with an amount of alcohol. I presume you aren't eating them and if not they should be harmless. Look up Coprinellus, Coprinus, Coprinopsis.
