Yes, Ganoderma genus can be found in America, but I said that this is a polypore because it doesn't have the stem, as the Ganoderma sp.
It could be a Lingzi musroom, and probably it's an old specimen and the stem is thick and looks like a part of the body.

Looks like young red banded polypore - Fomitopsis pinicola.
