Fun fact! Many species of birds and animals are sexually dimorphic, that is to say that the two sexes differ in size, color and voice. This is especially prevalent in birds, where typically the males, are larger and more vividly colored than the females. The bright plumage of the male ensures it is visible to potential mates, and also serves as a warning to other males that might intrude into his breeding territory. The biggest and brightest colored males are usually the most attractive to females and also the most robust, and this ensures that the healthiest genes are passed down to future generations. https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=...
