Eastern Striped Albatross Butterfly

Appias olferna

Description:

White with black markings on edge of wing. Almost pure white when wings are closed which is why I was confused about the species...now I see that this is a variable feature...while the veins maybe prominently marked in black...the wings maybe pale too.

Habitat:

Adjoining University campus...an abandoned patch of land, recently cleared. On Tridax procumbens.

Notes:

Thank you DanielePralong...interestingly the photo of the butterfly from Kolkata had pale wings ....in all others (in the link you provided) the veins on the wings are prominently marked.
