Ceraon tasmaniae
A cute little membracidae hiding under the stems of an acacia. About 11mm long. Translucent wings. Two horns pointing outwards and a typical longer one outlining and covering the wings.
On acacia stems in a local nature reserve. Wicks.
These are found in south-eastern Australia and particularly in Tasmania. Much smoother outline compared to the other 2 horned hopper in the area.

I can't believe the fungi you guys are still able to find. What a season. I wish we had some of that. Last time that happened here the wildlife went crazy. 2011 I think.
Oh my goodness what a cute little one! particularly Tas...interesting :) i am finding what you find ...atleast 3-4 weeks later i start to spot or notice....i could be wrong just how it seems ..with no summer to speak of this year i am wondering if we are behind the cycle ? Mind you the fungi is confused and the rain seems to have things popping up , i never seen last January.
Thanks Vinny. The autofocus on my pocket cam works very hard but I must admit 9 out of ten are deleted.
How do u get such clear images of small insects? Amazing detail
