Xerophyllum tenax
Tall thin erect stem (up to 150 cm) with compact white flowers on the top that resembles a club. The plant thrives with periodic burns and is one of the first to sprout in a scorched area. Aka Bear grass.

The Hupa people use this plant to create a border pattern in baskets. This species has long been used by Native Americans who weave it in baskets. They also braid dried leaves and adorn them on traditional buckskin dresses and jewelry.(Wikipedia)
