Vanessa kershawi
This common nymphalidae butterfly appears early in summer and popular in both suburban gardens and bush habitats. It can be seen in most months of the year.
Feeding along roadside flowering tea tree.
It is a close sister species to the cosmopolitan Painted lady (Vanewssa cardui) which lacks the six white dots in the black spots of the hindwing.
