Thanks dandoucette. Yes, maybe. It was growing just above my head as I stood to photograph it....I just managed to catch one leaf and pull it towards me a bit....the driver thought I was picking the flower....so what with explaining to him, the height at which it was growing I could not examine it closely...just a few blurry shots and these three.

You're welcome. I see some dry and faded brown pieces around the brightly colored parts, those were probably the flowers.

Thanks dandoucette...it was growing on a hillside and we stopped the taxi to take a photograph...and we had a debate...is it a flower or a fruit. Thanks for solving the issue saying it is a fruit.
