Nidula sp.
Empty Bird's Nest Fungus with a shaggy outside and smooth inside (no ridges). Possibly N. niveotomentosa or N.candida. It was getting a bit older, as it seemed to have the greenish tinge of algae on the shaggy outside. No peridioles present
Sitka Spruce stick in a shady forest dominated by Sitka Spruce with a mossy understory.

Yeah I asked a mushroom group and a mycologist also said Possibly N. niveotomentosa or N. candida but couldn't choose.. so I don't think I can be more sure than them.
Understood, Machi. I am reluctant to just "flip a coin" to decide between two species too.
Thank you for your research Tukup! I think based on that Nidula candida seems a better option, but since the peridioles were already gone by the time I found this I am not very confident myself saying what species this is, considering the comments in that source.
Hi again Machi. Just doing a little reading on the two possible species. I'm sure you have your own sources but I found the Sporocarp & Comments section of this site interesting. Don't know if it will shed any more light than you already have http://www.mykoweb.com/CAF/species/Nidul...
Looks quite different from the birds nest fungus where I live. Nice spotting!
Great find Machi. Thanks.
