Bougainvillea glabra
The actual flower of the plant is small and generally white, but each cluster of three flowers is surrounded by three or six bracts with the bright colours associated with the plant, including pink, magenta, purple, red, orange, white, or yellow. Does not tolerate freezing. This plant is growing in a hanging pot. Like moist well drained soil. Full sun. Colored leaves are new growth. Prune to maximize blooms.
Paper Flower (Bougainvillea glabra) has shiny green, slightly hairy leaves and magenta colored bracts. Bougainvillea, a native of Brazil is an evergreen, climbing woody vine. Tiny white flowers usually appear in clusters surrounded by colorful papery bracts, hence the name paper flower. Single and double flower forms are available. Bougainvilleas can be easily grown as a hedge, an arch or a tree on the ground and in pots. Bougainvilleas do not tolerate freezing temperatures.
