Honey bee

Apis mellifera

Description:

I believe this is a honey bee! Can you spot it? He is very tiny and moves fast! A honey bee is not large. It is composed of three distinct parts, being the head, thorax and the abdomen. Black and yellow alternating stripes. Not as fuzzy as the bigger bumblebee. They are known for producing and storing honey as well as building large nests using wax secreted by worker bees in the individual colonies.

Habitat:

Honey bees live in both natural and domesticated areas. Understandable because I snapped this photo in my backyard! They mostly seek areas that provide pollen-bearing flowers.

Notes:

Hope you can see the bee on the fruit !

I found a honey bee too. What is interesting is that I found my honey bee in a blackberry bush as well!
