Morchella elata
This is an abnormally large morel.
Ponderosa pine and Douglas fir montane forest.
A delicacy in the west, these mushrooms generally prefer disturbed areas, like after a wildfire. Be sure of you're identification, there is a false morel that is poisonous. Not all people can eat morels. Some get very nauseous so start with small quantities.
This looks a lot like Morchella elata; what do the 'shroom experts think?
