Description:

is a small passerine bird from the family of waxbill "finches" (Estrildidae). A communal bird that is often seen in a flock with 5 to 6 individuals. a fond feeder of guinea grass seeds - and that maybe a reason of their greater distribution along many srilankan habitats - since guinea grass is found on almost all roadsides of the country.

Habitat:

usually found in open woodland, grassland and scrub.
