Eastern newt

Notophthalmus viridescens

Description:

The adult form of the Eastern Newt is aquatic after dispersing in its juvenile, terrestrial form of a red eft.

Habitat:

Small ponds that are present year-round.

Notes:

I would have loved to take this guy's picture while still in the water, but was unable to. Does anyone have suggestions for photographing spotting in the water from outside of it?
