Medium sized (180mm max) very low profile, very flat, very thin waxy caps with largely wavy margin at maturity, tan-orange darker at centre, cream coloured at margin' Gills cream-white, shallow fine; stipe thick, white... ?
Public parkland surrounded byt tall native forest; in lawn buffalo grass.

Thanks again TMM.... yes it was waxy on top. I'm impressed with how common this is in the northern hemisphere but quite unusual here. Now I found 2 in very different locations. Nice.
Hey! This looks like Gymnopus dryophillus (aka Collybia dryophila) to me. Did it had a waxy cap?
