Cedar Waxwing

Description:

These little guys were huddled together in the shade of a tree in a Bob Evans parking lot, hoping my sons would bring them some bugs. They must have fallen from their nest. Red wing blackbird chicks?

Thank you, bird lady and Ava! The yellow tipped tails should have clued me in. I had seen a red wing blackbird next to the babies when we pulled in and was hoping it was the daddy feeding them... But cedar waxwing makes far more sense!

As soon as they start to fly, they will be looking for berries to eat! They come every summer to our blueberry field to fill up. Hopefully the parents will feed these two even though they are out of the nest!

These look a bit like Cedar Waxwings, but Liam, one of the Rangers, will ID these for you next time he's on line.
