No worries! Great to have Banjo on board, and great to know he's got some help! We've got a great blog piece on why scientific names are important; maybe you can make it accessible for Banjo :-)

Thanks for the info I will do that. It is actually my six year old son, Banjo running the show (with a bit of help) and he will love looking up the scientific names for the animals we find. He is determined to get his next badge! Wonderful site, he is really enjoying it. Thanks again.

Hi r.r.jackson1977! When you know the full identity of the organism in your spotting, please go ahead and fill in the scientific name field. For the Galah the scientific name is Eolophus roseicapilla, which you can find using Google and Wikipedia. In terms of the Project Noah database, adding the scientific name will make your spotting a complete record, and allow groups and individuals to easily find your spotting, and use the data it provides. It will also move your spotting off of the "unidentified" spottings list. Thanks in advance!
