Fly Agaric Mushroom

Amanita sp.

Description:

Flat cap with white dots.

Habitat:

Park. There was a lovely rounded and red Fly agaric (Amanita muscaria) right next to these not quite red mushrooms.

Notes:

My cousin Dr Indrani Banerjee took this snap and also that of the Fly Agaric and wanted these to be identified. I ID-ed the Fly Agaric straightaway but not these. However, she wanted to know if these could be immature Fly Agaric and gave me permission to post on PN so that we could get an ID. I searched Wikipedia and found that Amanita muscaria var. persicina and Amanita muscaria var. regalis look somewhat like the mushrooms in the photo. Help please.

These are also Fly Agaric, but some with some pigment loss due to age or heavy rain.
