Reddish bark with a jigsaw puzzle pattern. Long needles grouped in threes.
Southern California Coastal Range, San Bernardino National Forest. This tree was at 7500 ft give or take. Many Ponderosas die from bark beetle infestation, contributing to fuel for wildfires.
