Skink

Lygosoma punctata

Description:

This one is likely a juvenile. Slender snake-like body with four legs. Tail is fatter and red. The red tail indicates that it is not an adult.

Habitat:

My garage. Cyclone Yaas had flooded the garage (all cyclones do) and so I always keep stored stuff on bricks. This skink had used one such brick as a high ground.

Notes:

It is so nice that even though I am not going out at all...my friends old and new are dropping in to say Hello. (I missed seeing the snake that scaled the wall to enter my garden! My neighbour alerted me but it was too late.) Skinks are called Saap ki mausi or snake's maternal aunt in Hindi....so I suppose....
