Blue banded bee

Amegilla cingulata

Description:

This furry bee with striped abdomen and green eyes was clinging to a dead piece of grass. I do not normally shoot bees but this one is rather cute.

Notes:

Blue banded bee. Thanks Mark.

Thanks Mark.That looks right.
It was holding the stem in its mandibles for most of the day.
