Very small beetles.. male about 4mm female about 7mm. Many males were very actively exploring the leaves.. possibly seeking females.
Resting (and not resting) on agapanthus leaves in outer suburban back yard.
Thanks Stephen Thorpe for ID. Our pintails have close relationships with NZ pintail beetles.
