Northern Flying squirrel

Glaucomys sabrinus

Description:

Lives mostly in abandoned bird nests in black oaks. Can glide up to 150 ft from treetop to treetop.

Habitat:

Mixed coniferous forests from about 3,000 feet to 10,000 ft. Elevation.

Notes:

This one leapt from my house and sailed to the ground and ran down to the creek, I had taken it from my cat when it ran up on the house. We are right at 3,000 ft.
