Grass-carrying Wasp

Isodontia sp

Description:

This wasp was flying around with the poor katydid nymph impaled on its stinger. Wasp was about 2cm long, dark grey with brown wings and quite a long waist.

Habitat:

Found in 'El Cimatario', a national park in semi-arid area just outside the city. The rainy season is now in full swing and many animals are venturing out.
