A small, terrestrial and semi-fossorial forest skink.
widespread in the plains and hills, and common in rocky outcrops. inhabits a variety of habitats, from deciduous forests to evergreen ones, and also inhabits slightly modified by humans, such as plantations. besides Sri Lanka this species occurs in India, Pakisthan, Nepal, Bangladesh, Buthan, east to mainland South-east Asia.
