Northern Ringneck snake

Diadophis punctatus edwardsii


About six inches long with clear bright ring of gold around it's neck and bright belly scales. Otherwise dark gray/black coloring.


Can live just about anywhere from fields to woods to stream sides, typically hiding under leaves and logs.


Found in an open bag of peat moss in someones basement.
