Muskox

Ovibos moschatus

Description:

Musk-ox are pack based creatures similar to bison. Big, hairy, and very afraid of people.

Habitat:

Northern Canada / Arctic Circle

Notes:

We had to really sneak up on these guys. After following them along a ride for an hour we crawled on our bellies and snuck over an outcropping to shoot these photos and video. A tad soft, but rather magical. I've added a photo of Nansen and I taking photos of the herd. Pretty darn magical. Video footage goes directly to them walking (just to 37 seconds)

I don't blame them for being afraid of people. :( Another excellent spotting thanks Matt and great info too. (Love the locations!)
