Bombus
This bumblebee is black and very fuzzy, with yellow stripes on his body.
Bees are attracted to flowers with nectar and pollen in them. These bees' have similar feeding habits to their relative the honeybee. They live primarily in the northern hemisphere, but they can live in the southern hemisphere.
I found this at the Botanical Gardens in Athens, Ga.

That's a smart idea. It's difficult finding pollinators near my house. Aside from grass there are only a few flower. Plus it's scorching hot so it was a challenge to sit around & wait to see a bee.
I see you went to the Botanical Gardens as well! Bumblebees like this were everywhere!

What a great place to visit for this assignment. I have these guys all around my house. I have a habit of purchasing anything that produces flowers...especially pink, lavender and yellow. Great Picture! ~Sims, Sara
Can't believe you found TWO bees at the same time and you managed to get them to not fly away for a picture! haha! Gorgeous flower too, I absolutely love the Botanical Gardens in Athens. That is such a great place to look for bees!
You found bumblebees too!!! No luck finding any honeybees here too. That flower is gorgeous though! I absolutely love going to the Botanical Gardens! Seriously, such a fun afternoon especially if you going swimming or swing on the rope swing!
That is a gorgeous flower. Those bees are huge! I have bumblebees living in my garden, but I am happy they are not that big!
