Northern Watersnake

Description:

A stout banded snake with red and brown coloration. Scales are heavily keeled and eyes are set toward the top of the head. Neonates and juveniles are typically more patterned as coloring can fade into a solid dull brown as the snake reaches adulthood.

Habitat:

Pinelands habitat

Notes:

Found wintering under a rock with a Marbled Salamander and two Spring Peepers.
