Purple Emperor

Apatura iris

Description:

Medium size(120-150mm wingspan)Black, red and white butterfly when in an angle of the sun reflects metallic blue light.

Habitat:

Ancient forest, mostly leave-trees, but also spruce.

Notes:

I'm sure I'm on the right track, but it's a bit different than the purple emperor depicted on wikipedia. Spotted in Bardejovske Kupeles forest, it's a big ancient forest with very diverse and healthy biotop.
