Pacific White-sided Dolphin

Lagenorhynchus obliquidens

Description:

I was on a visit in Monterey Bay one summer and my family and I planned to go on a whale watching trip. Yes, we saw dozens of whales from our ship, but also a huge pod of dolphins swimming and leaping no less than two meters away from the ship! I was lucky to take this spectacular photos as they were only in the air for a second.

Habitat:

These species are found in cool to temperate temperatures of the northern part of the Pacific Ocean.

Thanks for commenting!

It has in a HUGE Pod, so about 20 in total. They were following our boat on either side of it.

Beautiful! You definitely got really close to the dolphins and used a really good camera to take such a great photo. By the way, how many dolphins did you see?
