Description:

These birds could be mistaken for Terns or Swallows in flight. They are not shy and can be approached quite closely with care. Although they hunt like Swallows they spend a lot of time on the ground and even make their nests on the ground, not only on rock-strewn ground with Terns and Plovers but also in ploughed and other fields.
