Tortoise beetle larva

Family Chrysomeliade, Tribe Cassidini.

Description:

It is a well known fact that tortoise beetle larvas often cover themselves with their own feaces, as a protection from parasitic wasps (according to Prof. Zundir J. Buzzi, an specialist in TBs, this increases protection up to 60%). But I never saw a larva with such an elaborated cover. It is like a hood, and imitates the shell of an adult.
