Short-winged Meadow Katydid

Conocephalus brevipennis


Small, green katydid with a brown back. Ovipositor (blade-like appendage off the end of the abdomen) indicates this is a female. Wings are shorter than the abdomen, giving this species its name.


Suburban. Attracted to a porch light at night.
