I looked it up-there are 11 subspecies of Dudleya cymosa most of which are rare or endangered. CALFLORA.org is a great way to ID plants if you have an idea of the name (even common). You can narrow it down by plants found in your county-click on the photo and it will take you to cal photos to see more pics of the leaves etc. I agree the dudleyas are amazingly beautiful. I have a couple of chalk dudleyas I have grown from seed. I work for a nonprofit habitat restoration organization that collects seeds from land they own, grows them and plants them into restoration sites. I absolutely love my job-I'm really lucky!
