My comment was probably not precise enough. I certainly meant that the caterpillars are strictly carnivorous, not the butterfly itself. To my knowledge there are NO carnivorous butterflies or moths existing.

Lycaenidae/Hairstreak. The only US carnivorous butterfly! Feeding on different aphids!
