African Tulip

Spathodea campanulata

This flower was found on the forest floor along with many others of its kind. It's stem had a beak thing sticking out of it, similar to the horn on the beak of a hornbill. The flower's stamens were within the petals and were not protruding out as shown by the second photograph.

Secondary tropical rainforest.
