Green Praying Mantis

This fascinating insect, brilliantly green colored was actually basking in the sun for quite sometime. This was about 10cms in length.

Not Mantis religiosa... A Tenodera species. You can tell by the markings/coloration and shape of the mantis (like the pronotum) I think.

Very nice picture. I remember the first and only time I saw one. It was in South West of France, I was 6 years old. I was absolutely amazed by them!
