Cooper's Hawks

Accipiter cooperii

Notes:

I spotted these 3 hawks near my home last July. They were practicing flying from branch to branch while a more skilled hawk watched from a snag tree nearby. I believed these to be Cooper's hawks but needed confirmation. Thanks for the help identifying this species.

I have added the scientific name. This is a very important piece of information as it removes the spotting from the unidentified portion of our database. Thanks for adding it to the Raptor mission!
